Heather Nagami is the author of Hostile (Chax).  Her poems have recently appeared in Poetry Magazine, jubilat, Sporklet, Dream Pop, and Lantern Review.

A fourth-generation Japanese American poet from Southern California, Heather received her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from University of Arizona and her B.A. in Literature with a Creative Writing pathway at University of California, Santa Cruz. She also recently earned her Master of Education in Inspired Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in English Learner Equity and Academic Achievement. Particularly interested in experimental poetry that extends the boundaries of what a poem can be, Heather enjoys creating new forms and ways of speaking in her work. Heather has taught at UCLA, Northeastern University, and University of Arizona, as well as public, charter, and private schools. She is currently searching for a home for her second manuscript.
